As requested by you guys, this post will help you to create gods and other divine beings in your world. Whether making an Archfey for a Warlock, or a creator god for your homebrew race, this guide will help you to make the most interesting and amazing gods you can.

Creating GODS: The first thing we need to do is what we want our god to be god of. This will impact almost everything we do with designing our god. It is also a good idea to decide what domain your god is going to be. For example, I want to create a God of Crafts in my world, which would obviously be the Forge domain, and maybe even Knowledge.

Next we need to decide what race our god is going to be. Although it is important, I think many people will skip over this step, but it will really help define your god. Considering that they are a god of crafts, then a dwarf would make sense. The race can also help define what our god will look like, which is our next step. Even a 5 foot dwarf isn't going to be imposing or god-like is it? So how about making them the size of a fire giant? Or maybe even BIGGER?! It really is up to you. I think that the size 'Huge' is a good size. As you can see above, our Dwarf god of crafts is pretty imposing. He has a large beard with heavy iron rings in it, and his curling horns are like that of a ram, with red runes carved into them. He has huge muscles, built up from hammering in the forge. His hands drip with lava, and yet he does not burn. The Forge god towers above mere mortals, and creates weapons that could fell the mightiest of monsters. The final thing we need is a name.

We now have Ornn, God of Crafts. And now to create a demigod...

Creating DEMIGODS and other Divine beings: We have much the same process when creating gods as for here. However, these less than gods won't necessarily belong to a domain. You'll probably make these beings as a Warlock's patron, but you don't need to make them for worldbuilding unless you really want.

The first thing we need to decide on is what Warlock patron they would be, as it helps to define the personality, plane they come from and how they look. I want to create an Archfey patron, who strides through dreams and helps those who are lost. Sometimes you may be stuck on what you think the Warlock patron would be, like if my Archfey should be an Archfey or a Celestial. If so, don't worry, as fleshing them out more can help. Now we need to decide what plane of existence our being is going to come from. This will decide what your patron's attitude will be. As said, my being is an Archfey, so they come from the Feywild. Race isn't as important, and will be dependant on what plane they come from. It's less race and more type. Now we can describe our being. My Archfey is quite different to most others. He has bark like skin, with mystical runes carved in. His beard is made out of autumn leaves, and there are even a few under his dark blue robes. A single, glowing blue eye can be seen beneath his hood, and a pair of long, bark horns protrude from his heard. The Wandering Caretaker carries a strange piece of wood to channel his fey magic, and several small, glowing bits of wood follow him around. That's him. Now we just need a name. Bard, Bard the Wandering Caretaker.

So at the end of this post, we have: Ornn, god of crafts (Forge Domain God) , and Bard, the Wandering Caretaker (Archfey Patron). Hope this helped, and please send in more of your suggestions.
